New Ark Digital, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") develops and operates the Alive in You mobile application ("the App") on behalf of Alive in You, a Catholic summer camp ministry. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. You may sign in using email and password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.

User-generated content. Posts, photos, and profile information you submit are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage).

Usage data. We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage events such as sign-ups and logins. These events are associated with an anonymous user identifier for session attribution. We do not collect advertising identifiers or build advertising profiles.

Device permissions. The App may request access to your device camera and photo library. These permissions are requested only when you initiate a photo action and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the App experience, including the content feed, photo gallery, schedule, and resources
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
  • Improve App performance and reliability through anonymized analytics

We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to third parties.

Data Storage and Security

All data is stored using Google Firebase services (Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Firebase Authentication), which provide encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your data is controlled by Firebase Security Rules. Infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services operated by Google:

  • Firebase Authentication
  • Firebase Cloud Firestore
  • Firebase Storage
  • Firebase Analytics

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not integrate any other third-party SDKs, and we do not share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Age Requirements & Children's Privacy

The App is intended for users 13 years of age or older. Alive in You camps serve students from 8th grade through adult, and the App is designed for camp attendees, staff, and contributors within this community.

Why this minimum age applies. The App collects personal information including name, email address, and profile photo. Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we require users to be at least 13 years old before creating an account.

How we verify age. When a user creates an account, the App uses platform-provided age verification signals where available — Apple's Declared Age Range API on iOS 26 and later, and Google's Age Signals API on supported Android devices. On devices or regions where these signals are not available, we present a date-of-birth picker and verify the entered date meets the 13+ requirement. Account creation is blocked for users who indicate they are under 13.

If a user under 13 is discovered. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a user under 13 has created an account or provided personal information, we will delete that account and the associated data within 30 days.

To support a safe environment for our community, the App:

  • Does not display advertising or include any advertising SDKs
  • Does not allow users to broadly distribute user-generated content — only authorized staff and contributors can publish posts and media
  • Does not include direct messaging or chat features between users
  • Does not collect data for behavioral advertising, ad targeting, or third-party marketing
  • Does not share or sell personal data to third parties

Parental contact. Parents or guardians with questions about a minor's account, or who wish to review, modify, or delete information collected from a minor, may contact us at hello@new-ark-digital.dev.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your profile data within the App
  • Update your information at any time
  • Delete your account through the App's account management settings
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us at the email below

Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is removed from active databases within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained in aggregated form.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
